Namecheap Hosting Renewal Cost: Full Breakdown by Plan

UNDERSTAND YOUR NEXT HOSTING BILL

US dollars · Rates checked September 16, 2026

Namecheap’s renewal bill depends on two choices: your hosting plan and the billing period. Start with the full amount due, then use a monthly equivalent to compare the options.

This guide covers Stellar, Stellar Plus and Stellar Business shared hosting. EasyWP is a separate product and is discussed below. The figures are published renewal rates, not introductory offers or guaranteed quotes for every account.

Is Stellar enough?

MORE SITES & BACKUP TOOLS

Stellar Plus

Consider it when the extras solve a real need.

Unmetered does not mean unrestricted usage.

Is Plus worth it?

A business site does not automatically need this tier.

When to consider Business

Monthly billing is not the same as a monthly equivalent

An annual payment buys a year of service. Dividing it by twelve helps compare costs, but it does not create a monthly payment option. Likewise, a two-year payment is a longer commitment even if its monthly equivalent is lower.

Compare the bill and the commitment together.

Choose a billing period you can afford and expect to use. A lower equivalent rate can be poor value if you move or close the site before the prepaid period ends.

For an accurate budget, keep the original term total in your spreadsheet or calculator. Round the monthly equivalent only for display; multiplying a rounded figure back by the term can produce a slightly different total.

How much can a two-year renewal save?

This calculation compares one two-year renewal with two annual renewals. It assumes current prices remain unchanged and excludes extras. It is a planning example, not a guarantee of next year’s price.

Same 24 months of hosting, different payment commitments
Plan Two annual payments One two-year payment Saving over 24 months
Stellar $111.76 $102.88 $8.88
Stellar Plus $170.88 $146.44 $24.44
Stellar Business $257.76 $251.88 $5.88

Calculate savings before committing. The financial benefit of paying further ahead varies by plan, while you give up the opportunity to reassess your purchase after the first year.

Which plan’s extras are worth paying for?

Use the official plan comparison to check features for your selected data center. The right tier is the one that meets your needs without paying for capacity you will not use.

Stellar: keep costs down when the limits fit

For a small project, this is the first tier to assess. Its internal backups are described as ideally twice weekly, not guaranteed. Keep an independent copy you can restore.

Stellar Plus: evaluate the backup benefit

AutoBackup provides daily, weekly and monthly copies. It can be a reason to upgrade; unlimited website slots alone may add little value if you run only one site.

Stellar Business: buy for a requirement

Check the resource limits and storage arrangement against your workload. Do not assume a higher plan will fix an inefficient theme, oversized images or problematic plugins.

Trial, first paid term and renewal: three different stages

A trial ending does not necessarily mean the regular renewal rate starts immediately. Namecheap’s renewal notice distinguishes the first annual payment after an eligible yearly trial from subsequent renewals. Check your selected offer rather than assuming every payment follows the same rate.

  1. Trial: any free period and its conditions are shown in the offer.
  2. First paid term: this may use an introductory or after-trial price.
  3. Later renewal: the applicable regular charge follows the plan and new billing period.

A two-year hosting term does not renew after year one

If you prepaid for two years, the hosting service is covered through that purchased period. A domain or other subscription can still renew earlier. Keep each product’s renewal date separate instead of treating everything as one “second-year bill.”

Why your invoice might differ from the table

Start by checking what the invoice actually includes. A difference does not necessarily mean the hosting rate is wrong.

  • Product: confirm that it is Stellar shared hosting rather than EasyWP, VPS or another service.
  • Billing period: compare an annual invoice with the annual column.
  • Data center and account configuration: check whether your chosen location or additional services affect the quote.
  • Separate products: domain registration, email subscriptions, certificates or other additions may appear alongside hosting.
  • Taxes and currency: check the checkout currency and final tax treatment.
  • Timing: an old invoice, a promotional term or a newer price notice may not match this dated reference.

Ask support to explain an unclear line item before paying. Keep the written quote so you can compare what was agreed with the final charge.

What about EasyWP renewal costs?

EasyWP is Namecheap’s separate managed WordPress offering. The Stellar table above does not apply to it. Check the EasyWP pricing page for the exact plan and term you are considering.

For a fair comparison, match annual with annual, or monthly with monthly, and account for the features you need. A monthly EasyWP figure multiplied by twelve should not be presented as its annual-plan quote.

Before you renew or switch hosts

  1. Confirm your plan, billing period, renewal date and full amount due.
  2. Remove only services you no longer need; check dependencies first.
  3. Compare the saving from a longer term with how likely you are to stay.
  4. Keep a recoverable backup and review your domain and email arrangements.
  5. If moving, allow time for migration and testing before canceling the old service.

Frequently asked questions

How do I find the renewal amount for my own account?

Sign in to Namecheap and review the hosting subscription’s billing or renewal information. Confirm the product, term and total, then check the renewal notice or ask support if anything differs from the published list.

Can I assume the introductory discount applies again?

No. Use the renewal quote attached to your subscription when budgeting. A first-term promotion is not a commitment to offer that discount again.

Should I automatically choose the two-year option?

Compare the actual saving and consider whether you expect to stay. A small discount may not justify a larger immediate payment if the project is uncertain.

Does “unlimited” mean there are no hosting limits?

No. Check the acceptable-use rules and technical limits. Website count is only one part of capacity; storage usage, files, processing and other resources can still be constrained.

Sources and scope

Pricing comes from Namecheap’s May 2026 renewal notice; features come from its shared-hosting comparison. Savings are calculated as two annual payments minus one two-year payment. This guide covers the three named shared plans, not every Namecheap hosting product. Your account’s current renewal quote determines the payment due.
